My passion for creating
For the love of clay......
I am an artist/maker based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, with a passion for clay. I have over 25 years’ experience within the area, gaining a BA Hons degree in Ceramics from Cardiff University in 1998.
My ceramic sculptures take inspiration from the beautiful rolling hills of West Wales and the elements I see within nature, the landscape and coastal life.
My work also channels my deep rooted compassion for animals and nature.
Finding myself living on nature’s doorstep not only allows me quiet creative space, but time to consider who or what I share the landscape with.
I take great joy in modelling the figures and animals I create, and love the feeling of seeing each character evolve and come to life as I sculpt.
I have always had a strong sense of detail within my work, continously developing how shapes can be formed, textures created and details can be translated. I am influenced by patterns and shapes that occur all around me and I love to explore how something can be interpretated through shape, form, line, pattern and texture.
